anyway yesterday we went for class. instructor say we doing punking which seemed like a more cheem and pro looking whacking. heh but quite fun. i found it fun. i dunno abt the rest of u.. by the time i come down the talking people who usually haf opinions de zao le.

i'm happy. cos i woke up today feeling painful particularly in lower ab. i dunno how come liddat cos i dun rmb yesterdays stuff having to do a lot wif abs but i'm happy anyway. maybe its cos there got the most flab lol. back a bit pain la. but otw only lower ab pain. =D

oh ya and yesterday was big groove by O school! dunno if any of yall went. if i had money and knew about it earlier i prolly wuld. apparently cheryl lim was going to watch the concert?.. dunno if she went in the end. anyway this whole big groove thing mainly features wrecking crew orchestra (wco) which is this damn zai hiphop group from japan so WATCH watever vids u can find =) they came to teach workshop 5 hours. and then concert 1+ or 2 hours. quite worth lorh. oh wells

wah after 2 long long interviewing days and much discussion between interviewers and GLs and streeters who were just being around, we have finally selected street batch 2! lol the list will be up on yahoo groups soon..and meanwhile i'd like to thank all those who came down to help in the interviews wen we were so short on interviewees.. junt emme and whoever else who supplied chocs. haha it helped to keep me awake wen interviewing them lol.sheena for arranging all these and getting the j1s. must haf been so tiring on u these 2 weeks. and esp scribers for writing down all the details..haha like lu4 kou3 gong4 lol. we'll prolly call the j1s who came for interview over the weekend. and i think j1 prac for this year likely to be tues and thurs. since most of them can make it on those 2 days. we haf abt 30+ dunno 2nd intake will take how many but i seriously think that this class is going to be beeeg. if any of u wanna come down during junior prac wif instructor and help out, (..lol i hope its help and not add mafan haha), we prolly need ur help. and i think we haf interesting things planned for j1s! hehehe

and see how enthu and hardworking some were

z'omg. i think we rock.
to those streeters who only found out today during CCA feste itself..or never found out...
street HAD a (not so) secret booth during CCA feste. like ^^wonderful^^.

[advance party report]
our attempt to test the market did not go quite well when we put up a poster at the entrance of the canteen. maybe it was too open? no maybe it was too small X( but we had only a few names there.. which were GONE this morning when (to all our dismay) we found the canteen green boards stacked together and the poster gone with a single white map pin left...our plans (created 12am this morning and prepared between 6am to 1130am today) almost couldnt be realised... but we are so great at reviving ourselves..

with much help from the few streeters we managed to get, we managed to plan for a street booth at our usual street cove (well the one that isnt occupied by other booths during cca feste) and although quite far away from the main show, we managed to entice enough people to come watch us at our little cove on the 4th floor =D (ppl who were there, elab elab on wat happened! =p) anyway i heard it ended really really successful and i think we have more than twice the amount of interested people that the school wants, before considering giving us a CCA position.

whoa first time we perform with a lot of spotlights and billowing smoke. ok i know its not smoke but it surely clouded our eyes. lol made a few of us crosseyed and confused.. but i think it wasnt too bad a performance after all. we all put it lots of time and effort into it and all the rigorous late night and early morning pracs may have tired us out physically but i believe we gave it our all during perf. 3 mins is so short, we were on stage for such a short time, but we were all panting dying by the end of it

greatest thanks to all rj frens present who cheered us on. it was really very heartening to hear all ur cheers. thanks to the spectators who watched us and gave us ur applause. all the parents and relatives who were there to support. and also all the people present at the hall (yilun, xiang..sorri i dunno all ur names) helping with makeup and hair and made us look so bomb. it is u all who made us feel big and like the stars of the day..suddenly we feel like we're the biggest item lined up for that night. [even though we probably werent since taufik was there and there were many zai dancers and a zai cheerleading group..] organisers for letting us perform, denise n aik sin who brought us food and helped us find a place to prac =D=D stage crew for directing us around, and all those who helped in one way or another =D

ZOMG! simin, ruth, emme and me just performed at RGS prom last night and it was the BOMBEST night in my entire life. not cuz the performance was good but because it was SO SCREWD UP!

for starters, THEY PLAYED THE WRONG SONG! as in they played the unedited one and we only realised it when we were 1/4 through the performance so there was so NO WAY we could have asked for a replay. and basically for more than 15 seconds, each of us were onstage FREESTYLING some moves on our own. the 4 of us just freestyling stuff we have never done in our ENTIRE liVES! ruth and i just exchanged places to waste time

at that time, my heart was like not really functioning, i wanted to pass out in fright and i couldnt even think properly! people, just try to put yourselves in our shoes. after pracing so long, we had to freestyle on stage! ahh..after the perf, we just ran out of the ballroom and went to the main road to scream out our anguish, nervousness and bottled up overwhelmed-ness!

ahah, ya that's all, maybe emme will post up rg prom video for yall to see, and u can see how frightened our expressions were. but on the happier side, the rg peeps still cheered for us!

Yay so happy that Open House is over. I had fun perfing today, especially in the 2nd and 3rd perfs (haha sorry wanqing, for guffawing at ur fall). The last 2 weeks have been damn chiong for everyone... thanks for sacrificing free time after promos to turn up for pracs =) Seriously right.. if there's nothing else Street has, we have committed people.

Everyone go sleepsleepsleep lots and relaxx ok? Must recharge before starting on our bomb CIP. It's hugeee man. Like hugehugehuge. I told my sis about it and she was pretty blown away. I think before we all start on this we should think about why we want to do this, as an individual. It may help keep us focussed, especially when the things get hectic. Last thing we want to do is to blindly busy ourselves with all the concert prep and end up wondering why we're doing all that for.

For me it'll prolly be emotionally challenging since I'm pretty sensitive to these things.. and I'm looking forward to it as a chance to share dance with others, perhaps in the process helping them to develop further. Sure it's cool to keep learning to dance, but if we can use it as a tool to help such a special group of people, that to me is more bomb =)

hello people, see? sherlyn is so ENTHU! blogging on street blog right after open house, on the actual day itself, too bad benny blogged faster than me.

Anyway, today was quite successful in my opinion! even thou the first perf was not very smoooth, the second n third ones were HIGH AND FUN. ignore all the silly goof ups hahaha...they are all part of the learning experience ok? i think we improved quite significantly from national day.. so YAY. even thou modern dance is pro, i think our 'product differentiation' is quite good cuz a few of my friends say our styles are totally different so not much area for comparison, so that's cool in a way.

so peeps, just wanna say that the concert we are embarking on is really large scale so pls get ready and know what you are getting yourself into. this is the kind of project that if we do it successful, it will be some huge bomb, that is so cool, instant recognition for street dance, but if TOUCHWOODIE, we acccidentally dont make it go smoothly, major screwd upness. so keep our fingies crossed alright?

hi streeeeterssss i havent blogged here in ages not that i was lazy but truth to speak, i cldnt rmb my blogger account HAHA.

and the open house dance is really really good guys! all the best and i'll be cheering you guys on that day! :D

dont forget after open house there's a street outing! meet 530 at our usual place (under block a/b??) and we'll be going for dinner together at esplanade (maybe gluttons' bay??) and then we can go esplanade underground for brief meeting, pre-CIP sharing session (i cant call it reflections if we havent done anything to reflect on right? - there'll be another session right in the middle of the project, and one last final reflection session at the end of it next year), and...

check out the dancers/breakers there! hahaha if we spot goood people we can ask them to perform for us nxt year! :D ya know, make friends yo!

ye finally the final song is out.
only the end bits are changed so remix ppl must dl. basically the transition before pass tt dutch (niang dou fu) is faster now (prac tt step!) and at the end, listen for the original beats. everything is the same, i just added drumming in the background so it sounds more similar to pass tt dutch. ye so prac to the new song and listen for the beat!

this is for everyone. our performances on friday is at 1225, 215 and 315pm - 3 performances, same dance. (uhh unless u wanna dig up our past dances like reach XP) i think there will be one group going around busking during busking times so emme bring ur player (and i dun haf to buy player yet). i thot it wasnt wise to buy now cos the one tt can attach mp3 is not tt loud and loud one cannot attach mp3. and the one tt can attach mp3 is sold out and quite hot so hopefully the other companies will come up wif players tt can attach mp3 also.

i was wondering if u all wanna congregate somewhere during open house, like when no perfs and no busking then we sit around there, so wen befrenders off duty can go there find us? i dunno if it'll work out or whether we will be at busking all the rest of the time so oh wells see how.

guys rmb to ask emme/simin abt ur outfits! meanwhile i will keep an eye for possible cheap outfits wen i happen to go out..

Sorry that I haven't been around much while yall have been pracing like mad! Was at 2 camps. Hope everyone's not too shag from all the pracs. This week prac will still be pretty intensive. Need to perfect some of ur steps individually. Hopefully by Wed night we'll be ready le, so that we can rest on Thursday and get recharged for Friday's 3 perfs.

Wanna thank everyone for being so committed to all our pracs. XIEXIE! On Friday we'll be having an outing (perhaps just a simple meal) after Open House for us to relax finally and for Vann and me to give yall CIP updates. Everyone must come k! Perfers and nonperfers =) CIP very exciting.. It's taking shape pretty well now. We'll need to start very soon on the sessions, so yall be prepared ah!

Apart from CIP 2 other events we'll need to look out for is RGS prom night performance and Boon Lay Youth Club's New Years' Eve performance (this one is a biiig perf). If any of u wanna perform just sms me k? I'll try to arrange for it. Priority will prolly go to who ever's more free for pracs.

Your GLs (Royston, Cheryl Li, Emme/Simin) will be asking for your schedules till year end, so do try to confirm when ur free n when ur not asap ya?

hey! heres the newest mix of the song. i dun think there should be anymore changes... i've no idea when ruth's coming back from her cip camp /._.\ so maybe she may make changes cos the transition from p2k to let's go is a bit abrupt =S ye if anyone find a suitable song for tt part lemme know =) everyone pracprac! must learn to look at urself dancing and not only remember i must move my hand/leg this way. cannot look like a machine just executing steps. must think of how the step could be done to look better, and bring out style (this no one can help u cos everyone's style is generally quite unique), and for remix ppl, how to look more man =S this i can offer not much help. i am myself girly X_X and for everyone of u, one more thing. learn to count when doing steps. some of u get confused when u count while doing steps. i think its better to learn ur steps by counting (like this is a number 5 step, this is a 'and' step) and when u count, count to the music, dun count to ur steps, listen to the music and count to the music. cos most of u count to ur steps, and u dun count evenly, so u tend to execute ur movements either a bit early or a bit late. (i myself am guilty of tt too /._.\) oh ye and remix ppl, the ending is from this vid, from 4.26 onwards.

just here to shake things up abit cos its getting abit stagnant... hahha...

alrights anyways just to update you guys the 3MMs will be going down to VSA to discuss further details for our CIP project right after promos, so if you guys have any suggestions/ideas/things to say about the CIP proj, please tell us asap okay?

and it has come to my attention that not everyone of us may be willing to commit to this CIP project as it'll be held over nov/dec holidays (and yep i know everybody has plans, so do i) . so if this sounds like you PLEASE TELL ME ASAP also! i really need to confirm the name list and provide VSA (and the sch) with the number of us participating cos there are forms to be submitted, alot of preparation, so if you dont want to participate please tell me early :)) and dont worry we wont be like pissed at you, haha :)

yupp but what im really hoping for is that we can work our schedules around this, like have maybe 2 or 3 seperate days where different groups of ppl (who are free on tt day) can go down, and if you guys are going overseas (cos i am! :D) or have other plans can just skip 1 session (but must make sure got enuff people to cover that day... or we can cancel that day's class)

so my point being that its really very flexible and up to us, so if your concern is about time and scheduling i think we can find a way around this. but if you have other concerns like u think cip is boring or u've had really bad experiences with cip can also just tell me :)) i think ive had a million and one bad experiences about cip so far i can prob understand and try to get to know your concern better k?

hey hey! even tho i believed many of u would consider what street did for teachers day rather maluating, lets view it in positive light k? without us, the workout bit would be even less exciting right? hehe and the councillors also very impt, but oh wells, should feel glad for helping the teachers =) mr wee says a big thanks to us for helping him out!

hmm he says tt he got news tt our current teacher will be leaving rjc next year, and he thinks tt he prolly will be able to become our next tchr. i guess tts good news rite? he's very enthusiastic, and i think he'll prolly be a great help to us as well. in the meantime, i'm doing up a cca proposal for streetdance. anything u wan me to say in it talk to me on msn k? =) haf fun over the hols! even tho must mug, at least no school i.e. dun need to fall asleep in lectures and feel horrible and no more late nites! =)

aiya maybe its cos its mugging season, and there is very little time, and pw is piling up and teachers are all being mean and school is not giving us enuff study time. heh. so ppl no time to post anything here.. anyway if u are going thru a hard time, most likely there are many ppl going thru a hard time too.. i'm like waiting for promos to finish =X looking too far ahead

anyway i thought the discussion session on thursday was really good (haha even though it could have been more exciting at the beginning), but thanks everyone for your support for street! whether or not we become a cca we will just try our best to get recognition in all our activities la. and if we cant haf a school approved camp, at most we have a outside school camp? (anyone wanna offer places?)

except i little bit worried about will any juniors come in liddat. and whether we will get a booth for cca feste. i sincerely hope so, cos our hrprs have put in so much effort in generating ideas and its plain evil to reject them. anyway i think open house wun be a stressful thing cos theres no lessons in that week that follows (other than monday and tuesday) I'll be getting a player soon, maybe later, so that we can haf 2 groups busking at the same time.

btw anyone interested in going go watch GNDB later?
